From 2018 to 2023, triticale production in Croatia fell from 62 730 t to 32 080 t, a decline of 49%. The market volume dropped from 59 975 t to 30 277 t over the same period, nearly halving. Exports rose from 3 141 t in 2018 to a peak of 4 939 t in 2021 before falling to 1 906 t in 2023, while imports remained minimal.

In 2024, agricultural policy and legislative changes came into effect, including the Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development Act that entered force on January 1, 2024, aiming to stimulate production and certified seed use. Global factors such as inflation and energy prices influenced production costs, while consumer preferences shifted towards sustainable and locally produced goods.

The lowest volume was recorded in 2018 at 3 141 tonnes, which also experienced the largest decline of 48.0%. In contrast, the largest increase occurred in 2019, with a jump of 19.8%.
