The treenuts market in Uzbekistan began the period with companies from CIS countries, including Uzbekistan, entering the Russian market and experimenting with nut orchards in 2018, laying groundwork for future production. Despite a competitive export environment for packaged nuts in 2019, the market expanded sharply in 2020 to 85 458 t, aided by the development of organic agriculture which enhanced product quality and competitiveness, while the sector remained resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a slight dip to 81 818 t in 2021, the market volume rebounded to 90 537 t in 2022. This growth was supported by government plans to boost GDP and exports, which likely encouraged investments in nut production. Concurrently, the Cabinet of Ministers' introduction of minimum prices for fruit and vegetable exports made overseas sales less attractive, retaining more supply domestically and contributing to the larger market size.

In 2023, the market continued its upward trend, reaching 95 647 t. The rapid activation of e-commerce in Uzbekistan altered distribution channels and consumer preferences, making treenuts more accessible and stimulating domestic consumption.
