Earlier Report Observations

After the ban on Turkish strawberry imports was lifted in 2018, supply chains normalized, though the total market volume remained stable at around 350 thousand tons. By 2020, the market began to grow, reaching 365 thousand tons, driven by increasing consumer demand for fresh strawberries linked to a rising interest in healthy and environmentally friendly eating habits.

Market expansion accelerated from 2021 to 2023. The enlargement of planting areas for berry crops boosted domestic production, which rose from 331 thousand tons in 2020 to 375 thousand tons in 2023. Concurrently, sustained demand for organic and dietetic products, alongside geopolitical shifts that encouraged local producers, supported consumption, lifting the total market volume to 423 thousand tons by 2023.
