After a 7% volume contraction to 20 445 t in 2023, linked to a downturn in domestic corrugated board production, the market rebounded in 2024 with volume surging 45% to 29 580 t and value reaching USD 66.8 million. The recovery was fueled by stronger demand for recycled paper, supported by EU environmental targets and sustainability regulations, while persistent cost pressures from raw materials and logistics continued to shape market values.

The lowest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 3,069 tonnes, while the peak occurred in 2020 with 4,215 tonnes. The most substantial decline of 19.2% took place in 2019, whereas 2020 saw the largest increase of 37.4%.

From 2018 to 2021, Slovakia, Austria, and Poland were the primary buyers of self-adhesive paper and paperboard in rolls or sheets from Czechia, accounting for 34.5%, 26.0%, and 14.5% of exports in kind, respectively. The lowest value was recorded in 2019 at 11,374 thousand US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 12.1%. In contrast, 2020 experienced the most significant increase of 28.5%.
