The substantial drop in 2022 coincided with a reduction in per capita consumption to approximately 4 kg per person per year and unfavorable climatic conditions, including a dry summer that hampered agricultural output.

During the same period, the protected designation of origin (DOP) Peras de Rincón del Soto steadily increased its market share, reinforcing brand recognition. The market structure remained heavily reliant on supermarket channels for fresh fruit distribution. The partial rebound in 2023 reflected a modest recovery from the previous year's climate-related challenges.
