This rebound was fueled by a global boom in hazelnut consumption, particularly within Europe, where growing health and snack segments increased demand for ingredients. Market volume remained resilient in 2022, reaching 7 645 t, even as a reported dramatic reduction in domestic hazelnut cultivation area in Spain constrained local output and heightened reliance on imports.
