Earlier Report Observations

The fresh pear market in Central Asia expanded from 141.1 thousand tons in 2018 to 195.5 thousand tons in 2023. This growth was initially supported by regional economic development, which boosted consumer demand, and later by the stabilization of supply chains following the COVID-19 pandemic disruptions.

Geopolitical realignments and trade flow changes from 2022 onward led to increased import volumes, further enlarging the market. Simultaneously, enhanced transport infrastructure and regional trade initiatives, including fruit exports from Kazakhstan, improved distribution and access for fresh pears.

Evolving consumer preferences toward high-quality fresh produce and continued infrastructure investments shaped the market dynamics by 2024, supporting import growth and regional integration.
