Earlier Report Observations

The Polish peaches and nectarines market remained at a high level of around 95 thousand tons in 2018 and 2019, despite price pressure from low-cost Italian peaches in neighboring markets which helped maintain consumption volumes. However, in 2020, market volume dropped sharply by nearly 40% to 59.4 thousand tons.

Recovery began in 2021, with volume rising to 62.7 thousand tons, supported by the dynamic development of new plant-based products which increased demand for fruit processing. In 2022, the market grew further to 64.3 thousand tons, aided by stable supplies from Spain due to favorable weather and ongoing price competitiveness, while the implementation of a new EU standard regulating maturity and classification and restrictions on neonicotinoid pesticides altered production conditions. By 2023, market volume reached 73.4 thousand tons, continuing the upward trend.
