Earlier Report Observations

Between 2018 and 2021, Russia's oxygen market volume increased from 13.2 to 14.1 billion cubic meters. This expansion was driven by rising domestic production, which reduced import dependency, and was significantly accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic as demand for medical oxygen surged, leading major suppliers to multiply their daily output.

Geopolitical tensions and sanctions in 2022 dampened consumption in key sectors like metallurgy, yet market volume stabilized near 14.1 billion cubic meters as higher domestic output compensated for lower imports. In 2023, sustained demand from metallurgy, chemicals, and healthcare supported a 1.6% rise in production, lifting market volume to 14.2 billion cubic meters.

The market volume contracted to 13.4 billion cubic meters in 2024. By 2025, oxygen production had recovered to 13.6 billion cubic meters.
