That year, the entry of new technology played a key role as Marcon EOOD became the exclusive representative for the European oxygen generator manufacturer Oxymat, introducing on-site medical oxygen production to healthcare facilities. At the same time, ABS-co OOD expanded its production and supply of medical gases, focusing on accessibility and quality for home oxygen therapy, which helped broaden the market for oxygen cylinders and home-use systems. Despite these developments, the market size contracted by 10% to USD 17.9 million in 2019.

Market volume recovered in 2020, rising 19% to USD 21.3 million, and then jumped dramatically by 62% in 2021 to reach USD 34.6 million. This period of strong expansion reflected a significant increase in oxygen consumption, although no specific local regulatory or major company news was highlighted in the sources for those years.

By 2024, the oxygen market in Bulgaria had grown further to USD 42.5 million, continuing the upward trajectory from 2021.
