The juice sector regained attractiveness in 2021 due to production and sanitary issues in Brazil and Florida, bolstering demand for oranges.

The market faced challenges in 2022 when drought reduced domestic output, necessitating imports of nearly 2 800 t of citrus, while logistical disruptions from the Ukraine-Russia conflict hampered exports. These factors contributed to a slight decline in market volume to 950 000 t. However, 2023 saw a sharp rebound to 1 031 000 t, driven by a global orange shortage that boosted export prices by 60% and prompted local producers to replace lemon groves with orange varieties for industrial use. This shift, coupled with a steep drop in exports, freed up more supply for the domestic market, leading to the highest volume in the period.
