The market volume for fresh or chilled olives in Montenegro showed a substantial overall increase from 1 099 tons in 2018 to 1 629 tons in 2023, representing growth of nearly 50% over the six-year period. This expansion was not linear, however, with notable fluctuations including a peak of 1 940 tons in 2022 followed by a sharp contraction the following year.

After initial growth to 1 212 tons in 2019, the market dipped slightly to 1 162 tons in 2020. The most pronounced surge occurred in 2021, when volume jumped by over 40% to 1 631 tons, and continued to climb to 1 940 tons in 2022. The trend reversed in 2023, with volume falling back to 1 629 tons, effectively erasing the gains of the previous year. Throughout this period, import and export volumes remained minimal, indicating that domestic production drove nearly all market movements.
