This expansion of local processing capacity, alongside the formation of new trading companies such as GRAINES ET FEVES COTE D’IVOIRE, supported larger domestic market volumes in 2020 and 2022 by reducing raw seed exports.

Throughout the period, the sector remained influenced by international companies like Palmafrique and Palmci. Long-term efforts to bolster the production base included trials of improved seeds such as MASTROP, which demonstrated yield multipliers of 2 to 4, and the development of a national seed roadmap aimed at improving seed quality and distribution. These initiatives, alongside sustained technical cooperation with international partners, pointed to ongoing investments in productivity, which underpin the relatively stable production figures observed from 2018 to 2023.
