Copra production in Côte d'Ivoire held steady at 30 000 tonnes in both 2018 and 2019. This stability coincided with government-led efforts to revive the coconut sector through the promotion of high-yield varieties and better farming practices. During this period, new trading companies based in Abidjan entered the market, exporting copra and its derivatives to countries like Algeria, which supported commercial activity.

From 2020, production began to contract, falling to 28 000 tonnes that year and to 24 000 tonnes in 2021. It then saw a slight recovery, stabilizing at 25 000 tonnes in 2022 and 2023. As a result, the domestic market size for copra followed a similar downward path from nearly 30 000 tonnes in 2019 to approximately 24 900 tonnes in the subsequent years.

In 2024, public initiatives to strengthen the domestic market continued, including the construction of large wholesale markets in cities like Abidjan and the ongoing push for agricultural improvements to address challenges such as aging plantations and disease.
