Market volume for oil seeds and oleaginous fruits in the Central African Republic grew consistently from 18,227 t in 2018 to 18,924 t in 2022. This expansion was initiated by the government's launch of the PRÉPAS project to revive agricultural production and by investments in small hydroelectric plants, which improved energy access for agro-processing and supported output.

Growth continued through 2021. In 2022, the market stabilized near its peak, aided by EU support for digitalizing public revenue management and by new financial resources mobilized from Islamic and Arab donors for agricultural projects. Production remained firm at 18,833 t in 2023, a marginal adjustment, while authorities organized a donor roundtable to secure further investment for the sector.
