The market volume for not roasted and not cooked groundnuts in the Caribbean declined from 34 969 t in 2018 to 28 137 t in 2020. This contraction coincided with Senegal's increased exports to China for crushing purposes in 2019, which tightened global availability and likely reduced import flows into the region. Senegal's floor price policy for peanuts, set at 250 Fcfa/kg for the 2020/2021 season, maintained higher price levels, further affecting import costs.

From 2021, the market began a gradual recovery, reaching 30 015 t by 2023 as imports rose from 6 208 t in 2020 to 7 752 t in 2022. In 2023, Senegal's government raised the peanut floor price to 280 FCFA/kg and allocated substantial subsidies for seeds, boosting Senegalese production and enhancing global supply. This improved import conditions for the Caribbean, supported by robust world peanut production from key exporters.

The largest decrease occurred in 2018, falling by 63.4%, while the biggest increase was in 2019, jumping by 294.5%.
