In 2020, Caribbean produced 34 013 tonnes of copra, representing a 10.4% decrease from the previous year. Production declined by 12.8% between 2017 and 2020, averaging an annual reduction of 4.4%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 32 216 tonnes. That year saw the largest decline of 17.4%, while 2019 experienced the biggest increase of 17.8%.

Caribbean's copra exports declined for the third consecutive year. In 2020, exports amounted to just 0.1 tonnes, marking a sharp drop of 81.8% compared to 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, exports plummeted by 99.8%, with an average annual decline of 86.7%.

From 2017 to 2020, France and the United States were the key destinations for Caribbean's copra exports, together accounting for 1.7% of total export volumes.

Caribbean's copra imports declined for the second consecutive year. In 2020, imports stood at 157.4 tonnes, showing a significant contraction of 14.0% from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, imports decreased by 10.2%, with an average annual decline of 3.5%. The highest import volume was recorded in 2018 at 249.6 tonnes. That year saw the largest increase of 42.4%, while 2019 experienced the biggest decline of 26.7%.

Caribbean's copra import value declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, imports amounted to 119.9 thousand US dollars, reflecting a solid decrease of 18.0% compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, import value fell by 20%, with an average annual decline of 7.2%. The peak import value was recorded in 2018 at 187.0 thousand US dollars. That year saw the largest increase of 24.8%, while 2019 experienced the biggest decline of 21.8%.
