Earlier Report Observations

The Turkish non-vegetable waxes market began the period at 4,381 tons in 2018. It contracted over the next two years, falling to 3,815 tons by 2020. This decline was primarily driven by disruptions in global supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic, which constrained imports and production. During this time, however, consumer interest in natural and organic products strengthened, providing underlying support to demand.

From 2021, the market entered a recovery phase. The growing preference for clean-label and biodegradable ingredients in the cosmetics and personal care sector increased the usage of natural waxes. Furthermore, fluctuations in global petroleum prices made paraffin wax less attractive, boosting demand for natural alternatives. These factors helped lift the market volume to 4,092 tons in 2022.

The upward trend continued in 2023, with the market reaching 4,237 tons. A significant rebound in imports contributed to this expansion. Throughout the period, sustained demand from the cosmetics industry for natural and sustainable waxes remained a consistent driver of market activity.
