Export volumes of mustard seeds from Eastern Africa showed considerable fluctuations during this period. In 2017, exports hit their lowest point, while 2018 saw the highest level, with a 2.9-fold difference between these years. In 2020, Eastern Africa exported 5.6 tonnes of mustard seeds, which is 13.8% more than in 2019. The peak was recorded in 2018 at 6.8 tonnes. From 2017 to 2020, the United States, Sudan, and Israel remained the primary destinations for Eastern Africa's mustard seed exports. The United States accounted for 51.0% of exports in volume, Sudan for 8.0%, and Israel for 6.6%. Together, these three countries made up 65.6% of total exports.
