Throughout the period, government support for agriculture and dairy processing provided a steady foundation for production increases, even in years without specific recorded events.

In 2024, the government approved a Food Safety Program for 2024-2028 and introduced mandatory labeling for dairy products from farms and cooperatives starting September 1st. These measures were introduced to enhance quality control and market transparency, continuing the state's active role in shaping the dairy sector.

Tajikistan's milk and cream imports in kind fell for the second consecutive year. In 2020, imports totaled 633.8 tons, a slight decrease of 1.7% from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, imports grew by 21.5%, with an average annual increase of 6.7%. The highest import volume was recorded in 2018 at 705.5 tons. In 2019, imports dropped by 8.6%, the largest decline in the period, while 2018 saw the biggest increase of 35.3%.
