The market for not concentrated, not sweetened milk and cream in Asia showed sustained expansion from 2018 to 2023. Total market volume rose from 393.8 million tons to 481.1 million tons, an increase of 87.3 million tons or 22% over the five-year period. This growth was uninterrupted, with each subsequent year reaching a higher volume than the last.

The most significant annual gain occurred in 2021, when the market added 20.2 million tons. Growth eased to 13.5 million tons in 2022 before strengthening again to 17.9 million tons in 2023. Domestic production, which forms the bulk of supply, followed a similar path, advancing from 392.8 million tons to 479.7 million tons between 2018 and 2023.

Asia's milk and cream production has grown for the third year in a row. In 2020, the region produced 428.2 million tonnes, marking a modest increase of 4.5% from 2019. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, production rose by 13.8%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 4.4%.
