In 2020, Turkey produced 1 725 thousand tons of melons, representing a 2.9% decrease compared to the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production declined by 4.9%, with an average annual decrease of 1.7%. The most significant drop occurred in 2018 at 3.3%, while 2019 saw the largest increase of 1.3%.

Melon production in Turkey declined for the second consecutive year in 2020, with output valued at 1 237 million US dollars, marking a 3.2% decrease from 2019. Following two years of contraction, Turkey's melon exports rebounded in 2020 with 11 652 tons shipped, representing a 52.9% increase from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports grew by 31.5%, averaging 9.6% annual growth. The lowest volume was recorded in 2019 at 7 621 tons, which also saw the largest decline of 11.7%.
