The introduction of multi-purpose melon seed processing machines enhanced production efficiency from 2018 onward. In 2019, the development of high-quality Jabani seeds and a wider variety of flavors and packaging attracted more consumers. Subsequent years saw continued consumer interest driven by health trends, particularly the focus on melon seeds' high magnesium content for heart health, and a shift toward online sales that improved market access.

After 2019, market volume gradually eased, stabilizing near 26 000 t by 2023. Increased investment in the dried fruit industry and further product quality improvements were noted in 2022, supporting the production side amidst evolving distribution channels.

After two years of growth, Iran's melon seed production declined. In 2020, the country produced 26 494 tons of melon seeds, which represents a 3.9% decrease compared to the previous year. Between 2017 and 2020, production increased by 6.1%, averaging an annual growth rate of 2.0%. The highest production level was recorded in 2019 at 27 556 tons, while the largest annual increase occurred in 2018 at 7.9%.
