The malt market volume in Peru showed notable fluctuations from 2018 to 2021. It increased from 137 024 tons in 2018 to 148 784 tons in 2019, then dropped sharply to 116 087 tons in 2020 before recovering to 149 304 tons in 2021.

The market then entered a downward trend, declining to 138 072 tons in 2022 and further to 132 954 tons in 2023.

For 2024, malt imports fell to 42 769 tons, while exports remained minimal. Regulatory developments during the year included the expected publication of the Personal Data Protection Law regulation and complementary guidelines for remote gaming, alongside modifications to labor and income tax regulations.

Peru's malt production volume declined after two consecutive years of growth. In 2020, the country produced 80 930 tons of malt, which represents an 8.2% decrease from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production increased by 7.1%, with an average annual growth rate of 2.3%. The highest production level was recorded in 2019 at 88 197 tons. The most significant year-over-year increase occurred in 2018, when production grew by 9.7%.
