After the initial surge, the market volume contracted over the next two years, falling to 72.5 thousand tons in 2020 and then to 67.3 thousand tons in 2021. This decline occurred while government policies continued to emphasize support for sustainable irrigated agriculture and vegetable farming, and authorities worked to secure agricultural inputs despite rising global prices.

A strong recovery began in 2022, with the market volume reaching 81.6 thousand tons, supported by government decisions in March of that year to encourage local producers, reflecting a broader policy to bolster the agricultural sector. The growth continued into 2023, with production reaching 86.9 thousand tons, consolidating the market's expansion above its pre-downturn level.
