The market continued to grow to 1.43 million tons in 2022, then contracted to 1.39 million tons in 2023.

The increase in market volume in 2022 was supported by broader health and retail trends. New dietary guidelines from China's National Health Commission emphasized higher vegetable intake, boosting regional demand. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, exports increased by 62.5%, translating to an average annual growth rate of 17.6%.
