Over the 2017-2020 period, production rose by 23.4%, with an average annual growth rate of 7.3%. The lowest production level was recorded in 2018 at 134.9 thousand tonnes, which also saw the largest decline of 1.9%.

The export data shows irregular fluctuations, pointing to a volatile market. Exports reached their lowest point in 2017 and peaked in 2019, with a dramatic 4 853-fold difference between these years. In 2020, Bangladesh exported 1 035 tonnes of leguminous vegetables, a decrease of 28.9% from the previous year. The highest export volume was recorded in 2019 at 1 456 tonnes, which also experienced the largest increase of 46 115.9%.

From 2017 to 2020, the main importers of leguminous vegetables from Bangladesh were Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Qatar accounted for 45.6% of exports in volume, Saudi Arabia for 17.3%, and Kuwait for 14.6%. Together, these three countries made up 77.5% of Bangladesh's total exports in this category.
