Earlier Report Observations

The market for jams, jellies, marmalades, purées and pastes in Croatia showed considerable volume changes from 2018 to 2024. Starting at 9.5 thousand tons, market size fell to around 8.2 thousand tons in 2019 and 2020, then recovered to nearly 10 thousand tons in 2021 and 2022. A sharp contraction to 7.6 thousand tons occurred in 2023, followed by a rebound to 10 thousand tons in the final year.

Domestic production followed a similar volatile path, declining from 9.3 thousand tons in 2018 to 8.9 thousand tons in 2019 before climbing to a peak of 12.8 thousand tons in 2022. After a drop in 2023, output rose again to over 13 thousand tons in 2024. Trade dynamics shifted as exports grew consistently from 4.1 thousand tons to nearly 8 thousand tons, while imports fluctuated between 3.3 and 4.9 thousand tons over the period.

Measured in value, the market presented a different trajectory. It decreased from $19 million in 2018 to $14.6 million in 2020, then expanded to $20.5 million by 2022. Following a minor dip in 2023, the market's value increased sharply by nearly 50% to reach $29.7 million in 2024, pointing to a notable rise in average product value or a compositional shift toward higher-priced offerings in the last year.
