After a slight contraction in 2019, market volume increased steadily, peaking in 2024. The growth was primarily driven by rising imports, which more than doubled over the period, while domestic production remained relatively stable.

In value terms, the market expanded even faster, rising from $4.8 million in 2018 to $11 million in 2024. This indicates an increase in average prices or a shift towards higher-value products. Import value more than tripled, becoming a key driver of the total market value growth.

Domestic production fluctuated, reaching a peak in 2020 but declining slightly in subsequent years. Exports also increased, but at a more moderate pace compared to imports. As a result, net imports grew, contributing to the expansion of the domestic market.

From 2018 to 2021, Slovenia, Croatia, and Montenegro were the main destinations for Bosnia and Herzegovina's exports of jams, jellies, marmalades, purées, and pastes by volume. Slovenia accounted for 27.5% of exports, Croatia for 20.4%, and Montenegro for 13.8%. Together, these three countries absorbed 61.7% of total export volumes.
