Mongolia's hazelnut production increased for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 337.7 tons of hazelnuts, showing only minor year-over-year fluctuations compared to 2019.

After declining for two years, hazelnut imports into Mongolia rebounded. In 2020, imports totaled 8 237 kg, marking a sharp 49.7% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017–2020 period, imports grew by 6.8%, averaging 2.2% annually. The lowest import volume was recorded in 2019 at 5 504 kg, while the largest decline occurred in 2018 at 27.5%.
