This turnaround was primarily driven by the elimination of export duties on by-products like oil-cake and expellers, reduced from 3-5% to 0%, which made exporting these residues more profitable and stimulated processing activity. Commercial agreements facilitated by the Peanut Cluster and SENASA also expanded export destinations to over 106 countries.

In 2023, production plummeted to 76.6 thousand tons and market volume dropped to 45.9 thousand tons, aligning with earlier expectations of lower peanut output due to reduced planted area. That year, authorities updated the Argentine Food Code to clearly differentiate peanut-derived products, including protein concentrate and flour, providing a clearer regulatory framework for oil-cake and similar residues. By 2024, export duties on solid crushing residues were further reduced to 0%, supporting the sector's export competitiveness.
