The Azerbaijani grape market volume rose from 167.9 thousand tons in 2018 to 204.5 thousand tons in 2020. This growth was supported by long-term investments in modern vineyards, such as the approximately 900 hectares established by 'Aqro-Azərinvest' in the mid-2000s, which strengthened the domestic production base. Concurrently, the implementation of the Strategic Roadmap for agricultural production introduced specialized zoning and defined promising grape varieties, providing a framework for sector development.

After stabilizing around 204-205 thousand tons in 2021-2022, the market volume increased to 219.8 thousand tons in 2023. The emergence of new segments, particularly in winemaking through modern technologies, enhanced product quality and diversity. Furthermore, growing consumer demand for healthy and eco-friendly products, combined with state export promotion policies via AZPROMO, contributed to the market's expansion in the latter part of the period.

Azerbaijan's grape production has increased for the third consecutive year. In 2021, the country produced 209.8 thousand tons of grapes, marking a slight increase of 0.9% compared to the previous year. Over the period from 2018 to 2021, production grew by 25.2%, with an average annual growth rate of 7.8%.

After two years of growth, Azerbaijan's grape production value declined in 2021. The output was valued at 144.2 million US dollars, which represents a 6.3% decrease from 2020. From 2018 to 2021, production value increased by 17.6%, with an average annual growth rate of 5.5%. The highest value was recorded in 2020 at 153.9 million US dollars, while the largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 19.7% rise.
