Earlier Report Observations

The grape juice market in the Americas experienced a decline from 440 million liters in 2018 to 368 million liters in 2020. This reduction was primarily due to supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, which hampered international grape shipments and limited availability. Earlier, in 2018, competition from more lucrative crops like sugarcane and soybeans had already constrained the supply of grapes for juice production, putting pressure on the market.

Market volume rebounded to 411 million liters in 2021, driven by a growing consumer preference for natural, organic, and functional beverages. However, in 2022, the market contracted sharply to 317 million liters as rising production costs and fruit scarcity for juice processing led to higher prices and reduced consumption. By 2023, despite moderate inflation that increased juice prices, demand for organic and cold-pressed grape juice supported a recovery to 383 million liters, reflecting sustained health trends among consumers.

In 2024, the market continued to be shaped by the adoption of cold-press technologies and organic certifications, with over 350 juice manufacturers operating in the United States. However, fluctuations in exchange rates and raw material costs maintained upward pressure on production expenses, influencing the competitive landscape.
