The Animal Health and Livestock Development Law, enacted in 2020, promoted better animal health and disease control, contributing to stable output even as illegal hunting of wild sheep and goats pressured wild stocks.

By 2023, the market stabilized at 10,600 t, with regulatory frameworks focusing on conservation and quality assurance helping to maintain supply. Broader livestock sector declines did not prevent the goat meat market from achieving overall growth during the period.
