After peaking in 2021, the market volume fell to 143.0 million liters in 2022 and 125.6 million liters in 2023. This decline coincided with liquidity difficulties for small and medium-sized local producers, which may have constrained market supply despite sustained consumer interest in natural juices.

Throughout the period, the sector saw efforts to enhance processing capabilities and product quality, including the adoption of pasteurization and cold storage. Local companies also began exploring international exports, although challenges such as limited infrastructure and high raw material costs persisted.

Following a two-year decline, fruit and vegetable juice production in Western Africa saw an increase in value. In 2019, production hit its lowest point at 42,620 thousand US dollars. By 2020, output had risen to 54,525 thousand US dollars, marking a 27.9% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, production value decreased by 5%, with a compound annual growth rate of -1.7%. The largest decline was recorded in 2018, when production value dropped by 15.1%.
