The Slovak market for fruit and vegetable juices grew consistently from 31 841 тыс. л in 2018 to a high of 49 048 тыс. л in 2022. This expansion commenced in 2018 with the entry of the Sage brand, which introduced a range of juicers and accessories, broadening the availability of home-juicing equipment and supporting increased consumer interest in juice products.

After reaching its peak, the market volume contracted by 7% to 45 607 тыс. л in 2023. By 2024, regulatory developments were taking shape, including the approval of an EU directive to revise composition rules for fruit juices and the preparation of a tax on sweetened non-alcoholic beverages set for 2025, alongside a reduced VAT rate of 5% for juices with no or low added sugar.

Slovakia's production of fruit and vegetable juices has declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 3 million liters, marking a modest year-on-year decrease of 5.9%. Looking at the period from 2017 to 2020, overall production grew by 24.3%, with an average annual growth rate of 7.5%. The peak was reached in 2018 at 4 million liters, which also saw the largest annual increase of 33.4%.

Slovakia's exports of fruit and vegetable juices have fallen for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the country exported 5 158 thousand liters, down 36.0% from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports decreased by 36.3%, with an average annual decline of 14.0%. The highest export volume was recorded in 2018 at 8 673 thousand liters, which also experienced the largest increase of 7.0% that year.

From 2017 to 2020, the main buyers of Slovakia's fruit and vegetable juices were Czechia, accounting for 66.7% of exports in volume, Hungary at 9.8%, and Austria at 4.4%. Together, these three countries made up 80.9% of Slovakia's total exports in this category.

The value of Slovakia's fruit and vegetable juice exports has dropped for the second year in a row. In 2020, exports amounted to 7 866 thousand US dollars, a decrease of 34.1% compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, export value fell by 24.9%, with an average annual decline of 9.1%. The peak was in 2018 at 11 951 thousand US dollars, which also saw the largest annual increase of 14.1%.

Between 2017 and 2020, the primary buyers of Slovakia's fruit and vegetable juices in value terms were Czechia, with 68.5% of exports, Hungary at 10.9%, and Poland at 3.7%. Combined, these three countries accounted for 83.1% of Slovakia's total export value in this sector.

Over the 2017-2020 period, import value grew by 22.4%, with an average annual increase of 7.0%. The largest decline occurred in 2019, with a drop of 4.2%.
