In 2024, the broader vegetable trade landscape underwent significant changes. Kazakhstan implemented quotas and export permits for Tajik fruits and vegetables, which contributed to a halving of Tajik onion exports. At the same time, vegetable imports from Kazakhstan into Tajikistan rose substantially. New direct contracting agreements were established to supply 4 thousand tons of vegetables through a streamlined 'green corridor', aimed at ensuring price stability during the off-season.
