After stabilizing around 29 800 t in 2022, the market grew to 30 339 t in 2023, driven by Tajikistan’s strong economic expansion of 8.3% and a 10.6% increase in agricultural output. State investments in agriculture and infrastructure enhanced production and distribution, while high competition in traditional bazaars ensured product accessibility.

Tajikistan's bean production declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 27,669 tonnes of beans, which represents a 10.1% decrease from 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production actually increased by 38.5%, with an average annual growth rate of 11.5%. Production peaked in 2018 at 32,233 tonnes, which was also the year with the largest annual increase of 61.3%.
