The market shifted in 2022, contracting by 7.6% to 47 639 t following the implementation of new EU organic production rules and stricter labeling requirements for frozen foods, which increased regulatory compliance costs for industry participants. The decline continued in 2023, with volume falling another 17.4% to 39 342 t.

After two years of decline, Denmark's production of frozen preserved vegetables increased in 2021. The country produced 1 213 tonnes, marking a moderate rise of 5.1% compared to 2020. However, over the period from 2018 to 2021, production fell by 51.4%, which translates to an annualized decrease of 21.4%. The lowest point was in 2020, with 1 154 tonnes, while the sharpest drop occurred in 2019, at 50.4%.

The output was valued at 1 495 thousand US dollars, representing an 8.7% gain from the previous year. Nonetheless, from 2018 to 2021, production declined by 47.9%, averaging an annualized rate of 19.5%. The minimum value was recorded in 2020 at 1 375 thousand US dollars, with the largest decline of 50.1% taking place in 2019.
