From 2018 to 2023, the fresh grape market volume in Luxembourg showed significant volatility. It started at 20 409 t in 2018, then fell sharply to 12 308 t in 2019. A partial recovery followed, with the market reaching 15 233 t in 2020 and 15 553 t in 2021, before contracting again to 13 903 t in 2022 and 12 829 t in 2023.

In value terms, the market followed a similar pattern, declining from 68.2 million USD in 2018 to 42.0 million USD in 2019. It then grew to 48.8 million USD in 2020 and 53.7 million USD in 2021, fell to 43.0 million USD in 2022, and rose to 49.9 million USD in 2023. Domestic production mirrored this trend, dropping from 18 100 t in 2018 to 10 160 t in 2019, then fluctuating between 10 880 t and 13 360 t through 2023.

In 2024, import volume slightly decreased to 2 076 t, while exports fell to 116 t. This period was marked by difficult climatic conditions during the harvest, with high humidity and waterlogged soils leading to rapid grape rot and necessitating strict cluster selection. Average import prices for fruits, including grapes, rose notably, peaking at 2 402 USD per ton, reflecting increased supply costs. Concurrently, the revival of verjus (green grape juice) as a derivative product in local vineyards indicated a diversification in grape utilization.

In 2019, Luxembourg's fresh grape production hit its lowest point at 10,160 tonnes. The following year, in 2020, production rebounded to 12,950 tonnes, marking a 27.5% increase from 2019. Over the period from 2017 to 2020, production grew by 19.8%, which translates to an average annual growth rate of 6.2%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 18,100 tonnes, representing a 67.5% surge from the previous year. Conversely, the most significant decline occurred in 2019, with a drop of 43.9%.

The largest decline was recorded in 2019 at 41.9%, while the most substantial increase occurred in 2018 with a 75.2% rise.
