Bangladesh's wood fuel production declined for the third consecutive year. In 2020, the country produced 25 267 thousand cubic meters of wood fuel, marking a 0.9% decrease compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production fell by 2.8%, with an average annual decline of 1.0%.

Bangladesh's wood fuel production increased for the second consecutive year. In 2020, the output was valued at 8 789 million US dollars, representing a 17.0% rise from 2019. Between 2017 and 2020, production grew by 7.5%, translating to an average annual growth rate of 2.4%. The lowest value was recorded in 2018 at 7 138 million US dollars, which also saw the largest decline of 12.7%.

Exports wood fuel from Bangladesh

In 2020, Bangladesh exported 8 410 cubic meters of wood fuel, showing a 14.8% increase from the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, exports decreased by 16.9%, with an average annual decline of 6.0%.
