Between 2018 and 2023, the dried eggs market in Bulgaria experienced significant volatility. Market volume fell sharply from 637.7 tons in 2018 to 363.5 tons in 2020, accompanied by a major decline in domestic production and trade. A recovery began thereafter, with market volume reaching 593.8 tons by 2023.

The market's expansion to 593.8 tons in 2023 was primarily driven by a surge in egg imports from Ukraine, which increased the total supply available on the Bulgarian market. Outbreaks of avian influenza in the country concurrently constrained local egg production, further reinforcing reliance on imported volumes.

In 2024, imports of dried eggs fell to 334.9 tons, a shift partly attributed to a rising inflow of fresh shell eggs that altered consumer demand patterns. Exports also declined, reflecting adjustments in trade flows for processed egg products.
