Earlier Report Observations

From 2018 to 2020, China's dried egg production expanded steadily from 162.7 thousand tons to 180.8 thousand tons. The initial growth in 2018 was supported by a relatively stable inventory of egg-laying hens, which ensured consistent raw material availability for processing despite seasonal heat waves that temporarily reduced laying rates.

After a minor dip to 177.7 thousand tons in 2021, production recovered to 180.0 thousand tons in 2022, maintaining the overall upward trajectory. The market demonstrated resilience during this period, setting the stage for further expansion.

Output reached 185.4 thousand tons in 2023, driven primarily by the rapid development of the egg processing sector. The entry of approximately 60 new deep-processing enterprises, coupled with accelerated demand for convenient egg products from the fast-food industry, significantly boosted production. This growth was further reinforced by a shift in consumer preferences towards high-protein diets, which increased demand for dried egg products.
