Trinidad and Tobago's production of desiccated coconuts declined for the third year in a row. In 2020, the country produced 422.7 tonnes, marking a significant decrease of 10.3% compared to 2019. Over the 2017-2020 period, production fell by 12.6%, with an average annual decline of 4.4%.

In 2020, imports amounted to 48 465 kilograms, showing a significant rise of 12.1% compared to the previous year. Over the 2017-2020 period, imports decreased by 24%, with an average annual decline of 8.7%. The lowest import volume was recorded in 2018 at 39 205 kilograms, which also saw the largest decline of 38.5%.
