SADC's copra production declined for the second year in a row. In 2020, the region produced 57 209 tonnes of copra, marking a 7.0% decrease from 2019. Looking at the broader period from 2017 to 2020, production fell by 38.2%, which translates to an average annual decline of 14.8%. The highest production level was recorded in 2018 at 93 629 tonnes. The most significant drop occurred in 2019, with a 34.3% decrease, while the largest increase was a modest 1.1% in 2018.
