After a slight contraction to 166.2 thousand tonnes in 2021, the market rebounded to 211.8 thousand tonnes in 2022, driven by the introduction of a new standard for timber-concrete composite design and the growing popularity of wood construction due to its environmental benefits and fast build times. The completion of the second generation of Eurocode 5 for timber structures in 2023 provided a framework for taller wood buildings, though the market volume eased to 187.4 thousand tonnes that year. By 2024, flooring trends shifted toward hybrid floors that mimic natural materials with easy installation, contributing to a reduction in market volume to 114.4 thousand tonnes.

After two years of growth, Czechia's production volume of coniferous shaped wood declined. In 2021, 160.1 thousand tonnes were produced, representing a 5.4% decrease compared to 2020. From 2018 to 2021, overall production increased by 100.5%, translating to an annualized rate of 26.1%. The peak volume was recorded in 2020 at 169.3 thousand tonnes, while the largest increase occurred in 2019 with a 57.1% rise.

The lowest volume was recorded in 2019 at 27 668 tonnes, which also experienced the largest decline of 7.3%.
