From 2022 onward, the market entered a steady contraction, falling to 497.9 thousand tons by 2024.

In value terms, the market displayed a distinct trajectory. The total market value dropped from 357.6 million dollars in 2018 to 306.7 million dollars in 2020, then surged sharply to 454.1 million dollars in 2021 despite a similar physical volume to the prior year. This was followed by a consistent decline in value over the next three years, settling at 293.5 million dollars in 2024.

Domestic production mirrored the overall market downturn, falling from 731.6 thousand tons in 2018 to 537.5 thousand tons in 2024. Both imports and exports also decreased considerably over the period, with exports declining from 131.3 thousand tons to 73.2 thousand tons, contributing to the reduction in available domestic volume.
