Cocoa bean production in Samoa remained steady at around 480 t per year from 2018 to 2023. This stability was supported by the Samoa Cocoa Industry Association's focus on reviving the industry and encouraging more farmers to cultivate cocoa, alongside collaboration with Whittakers that demonstrated the quality of Samoan beans on the global market.

The domestic market volume fluctuated between 362.5 t in 2021 and 462.9 t in 2023, largely due to changes in export levels. Exports peaked at 120.6 t in 2021, reducing local availability, while they fell to 20.1 t in 2023, increasing the market volume. These shifts reflected variable external demand and ongoing efforts to build export capacity.

In 2023, government and international partners launched initiatives like the Koko Market Day to promote cocoa products and empower communities. The Savai’i Koko plantation reported a bumper harvest, exporting fermented beans to New Zealand, while local company Wilex Samoa introduced a new product to expand Samoan cocoa's reach. By 2024, a New Zealand-funded training program aimed to improve young farmers' skills, and global cocoa prices reached a 44-year high, influencing export dynamics.
