Market volume stabilized in 2019 at 2.8 million tons as the input subsidy scheme continued, before jumping sharply by 19% to 3.3 million tons in 2020.

After holding steady at 3.3 million tons in 2021, the market resumed its expansion, reaching 3.6 million tons in 2022 and 3.7 million tons in 2023. This growth added over 800,000 tons to the market size across the full period, driven primarily by rising production volumes.
