Cereal germ market volume in Hong Kong showed considerable volatility from 2018 to 2023. In October 2024, the Hong Kong SAR government gazetted the Preservatives in Food (Amendment) Regulation 2024, updating food safety standards that apply to preservatives in cereal germ products and affecting their labeling and compliance requirements. Consumer preferences in the market continued to shift towards healthier, protein-enriched, and convenient cereal options during this period.
